Chih-Cheng Hung has been working on several different projects funded by U.S. ARMY MICOM, NASA, NASA/ASGC (Alabama Space Grant Consortium), NSF, DOE/University of Alabama, APL- John Hopkins University and State of Georgia. His extensive research and development experience includes collaboration with scientists at The Joint Institute for Computational Science (JICS), University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN, Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), NASA Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville, Alabama, The Center for Hydrology, Soil Climatology and Remote Sensing (HSCaRS), at Alabama A&M University (AAMU), Normal, Alabama, University of Alabama in Huntsville, Alabama, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia and The Applied Physics Laboratory, John Hopkins University, Maryland, over the past few years. In addition, he holds guest professorship from The Center for Biomedical Imaging and Bioinformatics, Huachong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China and The State Key Laboratory of Information Engineering in Surveying, Mapping and Remote Sensing, Wuhan University, Wuhan, China. His research interests include image/video processing and analysis, pattern recognition, artificial intelligence, swarm intelligence, neural networks, genetic algorithms, fuzzy logic, information fusion, image/video retrieval, parallel processing, and software metrics. The digital image processing research lab includes a 20 CPU Beowulf cluster, 8 pc’s, 1 UNIX workstation, digital camera, color laser printer, black-and-white laser printer and scanner. The labs are staffed by a full time Lab Manager, full time Support Specialist and approximately 10 part time student assistants. |
