The digital railway is manufactured by Marklin of Germany.
It is connected through a serial port to several personal
computers. The trains are controlled by way of digital
commands coded in a programming language. Commands can be
coded to control speed and direction of the trains as well
as the headlights (which are useful when going through the
big tunnel). The digital railway, in turn, communicates
with the pc by way of sensors located under the track.
