CSE PC Lab Accounts
Students registered in classes with course prefix CS, CSE, IT or SWS are eligible for CSE Lab accounts. CSE lab accounts provide access to PC workstations running Windows or Linux in all CSE labs, a home folder on a lab server and lab printing privileges. A minimum of 150 pages of free print quota is granted to each account. Accounts are good for the duration of the semester in which they are opened. All student accounts including files on lab servers are cleared at the end of each semester. Students needing to save files stored on lab servers must do so by the posted clearing date at the end of each semester.
Lab accounts for students registered in qualifying classes are created shortly after the beginning of each semester. Please consult the the CSE Lab User Account Handout form for for more detailed information about lab accounts and print quotas. If you need assistance with access to your account, please see a Lab Assistant in J263.
The J263 lab is open evenings and weekends when classes are in session. Students needing access to other CSE labs outside of scheduled meeting periods may request admission from a Lab Assistant in J263.
Most applications software used in the CSE curriculum is available in the labs. Seats are available on a first come first served basis.
Oracle Accounts
Students may apply for Oracle accounts by completing an Oracle Account Application form at the Lab Assistant Desk in J263. Instructions for accessing Oracle accounts are included on the Oracle Account Application Form.
UNIX Accounts
The CSE lab operates a UNIX host running the Solaris 10 operating system for student accounts.
Student accounts are normally created at the request of an instructor and may be configured for the needs of of a particular class. Students needing UNIX accounts not arranged by an instructor may complete a UNIX account application form and turn it in to the lab assistant in J263. UNIX accounts are created by the end of the next business day after the application form is completed.
Unix account UserId's are identical to CSE lab account ID's. The initial
user account password is set to 'temp00'. Users must change their password
at the first login.
